It takes a big heart to love, a brain to answer, but it only takes an open mind to write.

Respect Music For What It Is.

Music is my motivation. There are people out there that feel the same way with music as I do. On the other hand, there are people who don't respect all music, but only the kind they personally enjoy. In my opinion, people should respect all genres of music. They may not be a huge fan of all the types of music out there, but atleast give the musicians kudos for doing what they do.

I understand if "screamo" isn't your cup of tea, or if your not the biggest fan of "oldies", and so on. But I don't find it right to talk negatively about what they do. I've heard some say "That music is a disgrace." or, "How do young kids listen to this nonsense?!" How about just respecting the music for what it is. And if you don't like a style of music, just don't listen to it. It's that easy. I'm sure there are people that don't necessarily like they kind of music you choose to listen to. Everyone has their own particular taste. But I just don't see the point in bringing an artist and/or band down when their just trying to rise up. Instead of insulting the band or artist, how about just giving constructive critisism? They would much more appreciate some advice, then getting brought down by the rude and heartless comments. Just let them know what it is your not liking, or what could possibly be improved in what they do. And who knows, maybe they will take your word into consideration.

Musicians spend a lot of time into what they do, whether you believe it or not. And in someway, the music they write means something important to them. I've known musicians that spend several hours a day working hard composing lyrics, and music to flow along perfectly. They have to go over songs so many times to make it have the unique style it does. It takes alot of courage too, for them to get up in front of a crowd and play. So shouldn't they get atleast some credit? It's just sad how artists and bands have to constantly worry on how the crowd will react because of all the negativity. But in all honnesty, they deserve postive feedback, or like i said earlier, constructive critisim.

Overall, my point is that music is too sacred to be unnaccepting with. Musicians deserve atleast some respect and appreciation for what their doing. I'm certain, that you wouldn't want anyone to bring you down in what you love doing, so why bring them down. Treat others how you would want to be treated. That's the way I think of it.

  2. Bree, I love that music inspires you as much as it does, and especially your appreciation for musicians and all that they do. I too love music, but it doesnt have as big of an effect of me as it used to :( It makes me feel guilty that I've previously dissed so hard on genres like country and pop. What's the point of making someone feel bad about listening to something that makes them happy.Music is music. Also I love your profile, and how personable you are even when your just speaking what you believe. <3 Michelle

  3. I can relate to how people should appreciate music and the people who preform. I have preformed in front of people before ever since I've been playing music. It gets REALLY IRRITATING having people talking, texting, and make all kinds of noise while your preforming. Having to practice and rehearse only to get some crap from the audience just ticks me off.
